Artisan Spotlight

Joyce Geleynse

JOYART

While browsing through my favorite shops on etsy, I came across Joyart which I had chosen as a favorite some months back.  Looking through the wonderful artwork in the shop, I decided this would be a wonderful artist to feature in the next Artisan Spotlight.  I realize I am a bit late this month in updating the  site, so without further delay, I welcome Joyce Geleynse from the Joyart studio.  I know you will enjoy her work!

Joyce is a self-taught artist and has been specializing in portraiture for over 25 years.  Her preferred mediums are pencil, pastel, and oil.  She has been producing original mini paintings called ACEO's and has sold many of them on ebay.  These little paintings measure 2.5" by 3.5 inches, and are collected by people all over the world.

Joyce also accepts portrait commissions, and produces a variety of greeting cards from her artwork.

"I find great joy in creating realistic artwork that reflects the incredible beauty found in everything from a human face to a simple household object. There is no thrill that compares to it! I have drawn hundreds of portraits over the years, but the satisfaction I experience when I am able to achieve a great likeness (as well as a wonderful work of art) has not diminished one bit! I thank God for this gift He has given me and my desire is to glorify Him in all that I do."

In addition to painting, Joyce makes fabulous little sculptures.
