Artisan Spotlight

Sky Above
I am happy to introduce our new Artisan in the Spotlight, EversoDear.

EversoDear lives in Vermont with her husband surrounded by beautiful scenery and making lovely jewelry.  Everything she does and says seems clothed by her gentle light-filled spirit.  I am in awe of the beautiful way she displays her jewelry, and am excited to share some of it with you.

[Excerpts from EversoDear's Etsy Profile]

I love art & all it's many mediums. I love to appreciate & to create it.

I have taken many courses in art during high school & college, but I am primarily a self-taught jewelry designer & artisan.

Before I began to make jewelry I did Water Colors and then moved on to Block Printing & Soft Pastels. I found I wanted more of a hands on creation process, loved getting my fingers involved!
And then came Jewelry!

I love the process of playing with colors & textures, mixing natural organic elements & trying new directions. I have been making jewelry for just over 10 years now, & have been selling my jewelry creations to shops in VT & CT.

Rock Garden Bracelet
Beading Work Area
A little about her creative process:

I begin at my workshop, which my husband made for me:). I have tall towers of plastic containers from my husbands lunch meat, & they're perfect for holding more beads & findings! I usually have 3 beading trays going waiting for the inspiration/inclination & uninterrupted time .
I have a back problem & can't stay at the work area too long; so I grab my lap-tray, a beading tray & some more beads & head to the recliner. There is a kitchen chair to the left of the recliner, filled with even more beads & findings just in case I want to change the color palette or direction of the piece. I've been known to redo a piece 4-5 time to get the colors & textures just right.

EversoDear was recently tagged, which means she was asked to share 7 things about herself that we might not know.  Here are her 7:

1. My current favorite CD ~ Days of Elijah by Robin Mark
2. I love watching birds. I was thrilled to pieces when a Pileated Woodpecker was on one of our trees! They are huge!! Picture Woody Woodpecker on steroids!
3. I have a weakness for fudge brownies with craisins ♥
4. I don't have a dishwasher, but honestly don't need one. In fact while I'm washing the dishes, I'm looking into our back yard (which is more forest than yard) & I'll be singing songs or thanking God for all the beauty & the ability so see it.
5. I don't like it when the phone rings.
6. Favorite version of the Bible is the New American Standard, followed by the Amplified.
7. My husband & I met through correspondence in April, met in July, married in September! ♥♥♥

The Gershwin Bracelet
Delicate Peach Blossom
Lady Bountiful Pendant
Green Hearts and Vines Earrings
An interesting story of a special bracelet [from EversoDear's blog]:

For 2 days I couldn't think of how to describe this bracelet nor what title I should give it. I was praying about this and on the 3rd morning, after my Bible /Prayer time I had a whisper of a thought to write a poem about it. I took up pencil & paper & in less than 10 minutes; the poem was complete.

"Leave behind

Oh, leave behind,

under lock and key

all the pain, all the darkness

and set your spirit free.

Spread your wings

yes, spread your wings

soar up to the Sun

to the Light, to the Peace

before your life is done."

Brass Bird Bracelet
For the literary critics, I know this isn't great poetry; but it did convey the prayer behind it. I knew that to whoever bought this, I would include a copy of the poem with the bracelet.
And there's more to the story.....
Within minutes, this bracelet was "hearted" 3 times (a rarity for me) & it was sold within hours!! Something that has never happened to any of my pieces before.
And..... she asked for a copy of the poem to give to her daughter as a way of encouraging her!
And.... the daughter emailed her mom telling her how much she loves it!

This wasn't just a piece of jewelry, I know that God's hand was in this from beginning to end.

I hope you have enjoyed meeting EversoDear and seeing some of her wonderful jewelry.
